Who we are

PublishYour.blog is a platform for independent writers and their readers. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. For questions, contact the site operator listed in the footer.

Data we collect

• Account data: email, display name, username, bio, avatar and the content you publish.
• Authentication: a salted, hashed password and a server-side session token (never your password).
• Activity (only with consent): searches, reading progress and feed interactions used to improve discovery. Before you consent we use a temporary, non-persistent identifier so no cross-visit tracking occurs.
• Technical data: anonymised IP hashes (salted) for abuse prevention and rate limiting.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in — these cannot be turned off. We only set optional analytics cookies after you accept them via the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the publishyour_consent cookie.

Your rights

• Access & portability: download all of your data from Settings → Export your data.
• Rectification: edit your profile anytime in Settings.
• Erasure: permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account.
• Withdraw consent: decline or clear the consent cookie to stop optional analytics.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your profile, posts, comments, follows, media references and associated records. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
